What to record before cutting your fabric

A cutting plan is easier to revisit when its decisions have names, dates and units. A note such as “washed, looks fine” leaves several questions open: which fabric, which wash, and what changed? Before cutting, make a small record that another sewing session can understand. The aim is useful context, not an impressive collection of numbers. Start with a blank sheet. The Sewlore Sewing Preparation Library includes blank measurement records and project-planning templates in printable and editable formats. Its browser worksheet has 35 labelled fields; you need only the fields relevant to your project. Empty spaces are intentional.
